Erected in 1952 Decatur Elementary serves and the primary school for all GSRP to 5th grade students.

On December 1, 1982, in recognition of 50 years of service to education, Decatur Elementary was renamed Marion Davis Elementary School. Marion Davis was a teacher and principal at DPS for most of his career. He was a gentle person who always cared for the students and staff. He retired in 1971 from education.
