Scrap Metal Bid: This bid proposal outlines the process for the breakdown and removal of school furniture and scrap metal, including large items such as filing cabinets, desks, and other metal-based furniture. The individual or company bidding on the project will manage all aspects of the removal and transportation of these items, with a percentage of the profits (or a one-time payment) from the sale of scrap metal shared with the school as agreed upon from the bid proposal. Scope of Work: Breakdown of School Furniture: The individual or company bidding on the project will carefully disassemble various types of school furniture, including desks, chairs, filing cabinets, and other metal-based furniture. All furniture will be broken down in a safe and efficient manner to ensure minimal disruption to the school environment. Removal: The individual or company will remove all scrap metal, including large items such as filing cabinets, metal desks, and other furniture parts. They will also use dumpsters provided by Decatur Public Schools to dispose of non-metal items removed from the furniture. Transportation: The individual or company bidding on the project will provide all necessary vehicles and equipment to transport the scrap metal to appropriate facilities. Profit Sharing: After the scrap metal is sold, the individual or company will provide a mutually agreed-upon percentage of the profits to the school, or they may provide a onetime payment to the school instead of a percentage offer. The percentage share or one-time payment will be outlined in the bid and confirmed before the project begins to ensure transparency and satisfaction for both parties. Timeline • Start Date: March 28, 2025 • Completion Date: April 5, 2025. Those interested in bidding are offered the opportunity to view the scope of the project on February 25, 2025 at 10:00 AM. We will meet at the entrance of the Jr. Sr. High School, 110 Cedar Street. If someone is not able to attend this meeting, they can make other arrangements by contacting the District Office at 269 423 6800. Bids may be emailed to pcreagan@raiderpride.org or brought to the District Office, 110 Cedar Street, Decatur, MI 49045 no later than March 4, 2025, 12:00 PM. Bids will be opened shortly after 12:00 on March 4, 2025 in the District Office. The owner of the winning bid will be contacted by March 5, 2025.
